Jeff Goldman - Director, Nexus Montgomery
Jeff works with the Board of Directors to jointly set mission, vision, goals, and strategy, and select programs and investments to achieve shared objectives. He is responsible for managing Nexus infrastructure and program staff, ensuring that outcome metrics are accurately tracked and reported, and developing program budget and expense recordation. Prior to joining Nexus, he served as the Vice President of Market Development at Valence Health where he identified and developed strategic market opportunities stemming from changes in state and federal health policy. He has extensive experience in healthcare marketing and strategy development, including 15 years with Kaiser Permanente at both the local and national levels. He is pursuing a PhD in Public Health from the University of Maryland, and holds a Masters of Arts in Writing from Johns Hopkins University and Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Susan Donovan, MHA - Director, Population Health
Susan’s responsibilities include managing the Nexus Montgomery program plan, leading new program development, and monitoring the external environment for emerging opportunities and challenges. Prior to joining Nexus Montgomery, she supported the development and execution of population health programming across Johns Hopkins Medicine. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.
Bethany Sanders, MPH- Director, Quality and Outcomes
Bethany’s responsibilities include the evaluation and analysis of Nexus programs, facilitating the Learning Collaborative for the Hospital Care Transitions and facilitating the Skilled Nursing Facility Alliance. Prior to joining Nexus Montgomery, she worked initially overseas in international development, then spend the last 12 years working as the Director of Quality and Outcomes for a Federally Qualified Health Center. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Theology from the University of St Andrews.
Shawnda Sullivan, MHA, MBA - Director, Community Physician Program
Shawnda's responsibilities include managing the Nexus Montgomery community physician program, monitoring total cost of care, and working with state and federal organizations on opportunities and challenges. Prior to joining Nexus Montgomery, she managed the development and execution of the Accountable Care Organization for Collaborative Health Systems, a WellCare Company. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Science from Towson University, and an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care.
Orlando Wright, PhD, LCSW-C - Behavioral Health Manager
Orlando’s responsibilities include facilitating inter-agency collaboration across Nexus hospitals, community-based organizations and the Core Services Agencies to optimize and develop behavioral health resources. He previously served as the Director of Behavioral Health for Catholic Charities of Greater Hartford and oversaw the Office of Pre-Trial Interventions for the State of Connecticut. He holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut and recently completed the final stages of his dissertation for a PhD in the School of Behavioral and Social Science at Capella University.
Rafael Ramirez, MSE - Senior Data Manager
Rafael is the Senior Data Manager for Primary Care Coalition. He is responsible for ensuring Nexus Montgomery reports provide accurate and reliable information. Rafael's focus is economic, statistical and econometric analysis to evaluate public programs. He has extensively worked on data management and programming in a wide range of data systems, programs, and contexts. Rafael has worked as an international consultant with a focus on data analysis for over 10 years. He has worked for the World Bank, the Institute for Economic and Business Research at the University of California in Berkeley, the National Health Institute in Mexico, and Volkswagen-Mexico. He holds a BS in Actuarial Science and a MS in Economics from UDLAP. Rafael has credit for exams P, FM and MFE by the Society of Actuaries.
Madeline Nelson, MSPH - Program Coordinator
Madeline provides analytical, research, and project management support for the Nexus initiatives. She collaborates with program staff, hospitals, and community partners to ensure accuracy of data analysis and reporting, track monthly performance measures, and evaluate potential new programs. She maintains a detailed project schedule and works to plan and coordinate events to support Nexus programs. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Delaware.
