Susan Donovan, MHA – Managing Director, Nexus Montgomery

Susan works with the Board of Directors to jointly set mission, vision, goals, and strategy, and select programs and investments to achieve shared objectives. She is responsible for managing Nexus infrastructure and program staff, ensuring that outcome metrics are accurately tracked and reported, and developing program budget and expense recordation. Previously, Susan served Nexus as the director of population health. Prior to joining Nexus Montgomery, she supported the development and execution of population health programming across Johns Hopkins Medicine. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.

Bethany Sanders, MPH- Director, Quality and Outcomes

Bethany’s responsibilities include the evaluation and analysis of Nexus programs, as well as ensuring Nexus leadership and the program teams have the necessary data and analytics to support their day-to-day operations and decision-making. Prior to joining Nexus Montgomery, she worked initially overseas in international development, and then spent 12 years working as the Director of Quality and Outcomes for a Federally Qualified Health Center. She holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Theology from the University of St Andrews.

Shawnda Sullivan, MHA, MBA, MPhil, RRT – Director, Community Programs

Shawnda’s responsibilities include managing the Nexus Montgomery community programs, monitoring total cost of care, and working with state and federal organizations on opportunities and challenges. Prior to joining Nexus Montgomery, she managed the development and execution of an Accountable Care Organization. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, a Master of Philosophy from Walden University, a Bachelor of Science in Technical Science from Towson University, and an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care.

Rafael Ramirez, MSE – Senior Data Manager

Rafael is the Senior Data Manager for Primary Care Coalition. He is responsible for ensuring Nexus Montgomery reports provide accurate and reliable information. Rafael’s focus is economic, statistical and econometric analysis to evaluate public programs. He has extensively worked on data management and programming in a wide range of data systems, programs, and contexts. Rafael has worked as an international consultant with a focus on data analysis for over 10 years. He has worked for the World Bank, the Institute for Economic and Business Research at the University of California in Berkeley, the National Health Institute in Mexico, and Volkswagen-Mexico. He holds a BS in Actuarial Science and a MS in Economics from UDLAP. Rafael has credit for exams P, FM and MFE by the Society of Actuaries.

Temi Oshiyoye, MPH, CHES – Quality Improvement Manager

Temi Oshiyoye, a public health professional with over a decade of experience. She is currently the Quality Improvement Manager for Nexus Montgomery at the Primary Care Coalition. In her role, she works with hospital transition care teams, and manages the Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) Alliance program where she facilitates collaboration and partnership between 36 SNFs and 6 hospitals. She uses standard quality improvement tools like Six Sigma, root cause analysis and statistical process control to develop individualized quality improvement plans for the SNFs to help reduce 30days readmission/ re-hospitalization and improve quality of care. Temi has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in human development and a master’s in public health. Temi is a Certified Health Education Specialist.

Pamela Vega, MHA, CNML – Program Coordinator 

Pamela provides analytical, research and project management support to Nexus Montgomery. Through her role, she collaborates with program staff, hospitals, and community partners to ensure accuracy of data analysis/reporting, and track monthly performance measures. Pam maintains a detailed project schedule, and coordinates events to support Nexus Montgomery. Previously, she completed a Philanthropy Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente supporting the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy processes. Pam holds a Master’s in Health Administration, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
